To achieve the second and third objectives, the Amazon Friendly initiative must be applied in the market. The Amazon Friendly logo provides a structure which allows this to take place:
To create market awareness and gain the acceptance and support of the consumer, as well as to provide them with a means of directly contributing to help through Amazon Friendly’s efforts in the Amazon, manufacturers have the option of incorporating the Amazon Friendly Logo on their packaging and marketing material. A license fee of 1% is charged on the cost of the raw material for the right of using the Amazon Friendly logo (of which there are 2 versions, as shown below). All such payments, plus any donations made to the fund, are transparently directed into social and environmental projects in the region.
